Notebooks And Computers - Faster with the New Atom
After almost a year, Intel's Atom chip to bring such a popular netbook, the company re-announced the latest Intel Atom processor with integrated graphics capabilities in the CPU.

By using the new Atom, the netbook will have higher performance with a smaller design and energy efficient. The leading OEMs have committed to remove the system using the Intel Atom processor and supporting chipset within the next few weeks.

The latest Intel platform comes with Intel Atom N450, and NM10 Intel Express Chipset for netbook which has a lower power consumption. While basic-level desktop PC using the Intel Atom processor D410 or D510 that has two core, which is then paired with the Intel Express Chipset NM10.

Atom processor design has been adapted for small devices and has a low electrical consumption, and still is Intel's smallest chip, built using a 45nm production process of high-k metal gate. All parts of platforms, including the chipset, packed in a smaller size because of the integration process and production systems in smaller 45nm.

"Intel Atom processor has opened a new category in the computing world for one and a half years back and we believe that this development will continue with devices such as netbooks and basic level of desktop PCs built in accordance with fundamental computing activities and patterns of Internet use," said Eden Moody, Vice President and General Manager of Intel's PC Client Group.

"We can not wait to launch the latest generation Atom platform and work with all parties in the industry who are entering this next growth phase, supports the innovative system design with better performance, which tracks smaller emissions and batteries last longer," added.

N450 is a single core Atom processor using L2 512k cache and the device is 7 watts TDP including chipsets. While a desktop PC D410 to the basic level is the Atom processor with one core that has a L2 cache and device 512k TDP of 12 watts, including chipsets, and desktop PC D510 to the basic level are the two core Atom processor with L2 cache and device 1meg TDP of 15 watts including chipset. All of this new chip has a speed of 1.66 GHz.

Pricing and availability will be announced in January, when the systems are given for the OEM.
