Global PC growth

Acer is now happy to have taken over the position Dell as the second largest computer vendor in the world during the third quarter, IDC reported on Wednesday (15/10) this. Global PC growth has increased 2.3 percent in the same quarter earlier this year, to 78.1 million units. This is the first time in the first quarter of this year which increased PC sales, IDC added.

Growth of Acer rose 25.6 percent to reach 10.96 million units, beating sales of Dell with 8.4 percent of 9.95 million units. Acer managed to achieve strong sales during the school season. In addition, Acer also benefit emergency laptop and netbook competition with cheap price.

Acer ended the quarter with 14 percent, while Dell only 12.7 percent, and HP is still ahead in the top PC vendor with 20.1 percent results, with sales of 15.79 million PCs, and from year to year, an increase of 9.3 percent. HP includes a strong vendor in retail sales compared to Dell.

According to IDC, the other as well as Lenovo's sales increased 18.2 percent, with sales of 6.99 million, was in fourth position. While Toshiba reached 6.9 percent until 4:04 million units, the fifth ranked top PC vendor.
